MEMORY OF A PLACE
My current home, Väljaotsa, has had the biggest impact on my life amongst the places I have visited or lived in.
The peace and calmness I feel here is indispensable. The morning fog rolling from the fields, the cry of an owl, the night sky full of stars, all those wild animals in our garden - allowing us to live with them, the roar of the wind, the rustling of the birch leaves, the shade of trees, the silence. The world is stopping here if you allow it.
So please, step down with me into this magical, intact place, full of light and shadows, smells and voices of the nature.
It is the place of my freedom, ampleness, light and shelter. It surrounds and holds me as a cocoon. I live in this bubble and don't want to lose it. So I am holding it as gentle as it holds me. As we both are unbreakable and fragile at the same time.
It has taken 3 years to create the complete set of pieces I had in my mind. Two pieces - “Flaming” and “Always full” are made exclusively for the 6th Contemporary Metal Art Biennial in Vilnius “METALOphone: Memory of a Place”. “Howl of the Wolf” is made for A-Gallery’s annual exhibition “Kirevane”. “Morning Fog” is made for the exhibition “Forests and Waters” in Estonian Nationa Museum. “Shelter” is made for A-Gallery’s annual exhibition “SPARK”. “Blue Moon” is made for the exhibition “Ilmavõsa Rajaleidjad” in Palamuse Museum.
